Favorite Comic Artists

THE PULSE wants to know: Who are some of your favorite comic creators and what about each makes him/her a particular favorite?

Artists: (I'll do writers later.)

Michael Lark and Sean Phillips-
These two do dark moody drama books better than any other artist out there. They make you feel like your actually in the bar slugging it out with our hero.

Becky Cloonan-
Her range of styles is so amazing it's scary. I don't know how she pulls it off in Demo month after month.

Alan Davis-
I love clean lines and Davis has one of the smoothest lines around. His figures don't sit on the page, they flow.

Walt Simonson-
To me he's like a modern Jack Kirby. Maybe it's because I grew up with his run on Thor, but he makes his figures seem larger than life. They may not look realistic, but damn if his characters don't look like they actually live, breathe, and feel.

The Kuberts and The Romitas-
All of them have that Family style. Not many creators stick with a style and not only run with it, but have it change and grow as they develop. This is art as evolution.

More to come later...
