I am an artist who draws and writes, and I'm looking for a breakthrough into the comic book industry. Does anyone have any good leads, or tips?
Keep practicing. As for drawing, keep an up-to-date portfolio. Go to comic book conventions, and show it to anyone who will look at it. Make sure you're showing at least several pages of artwork that follows a story, not just single splash pages. Make sure you're able to draw AT LEAST one page a day…that is absolute minimum, most pencillers can do 2-3 pages a day. If companies still accept submissions, put packages together and send them off. Package should consist of:
1) cover letter- introduce yourself, list your training/education, etc., and what you want to accomplish.
2)several pages (photocopies, NOT original art) of continuous story artwork, say 2 stories of 3-pages each. Maybe one splash page as a 'cover'.
3)A self-addressed stamped envelope so you can be sent remarks, criticisms, etc.
If you ask some creators out there today, they would tell you they have probably had several hundred rejection letters before being considered. Just keep trying, do everything you can think of…
a bit more info but you don't need to answer it all.
Discuss how Beckett’s Waiting for Godot can be considered a play that combines tragedy and comedy. Do you think Beckett is giving us a pessimistic, negative portrayal of human existence, an affirmative and heroic one, or both, or neither? Explain why.

Mrs.Thatcher said it was a load of rubbish.

I am a lifelong and trained writer, how do I break into the comic book writing business. My goal was always to be at Marvel Comics.
This should answer your questions ^_^ http://www.marvel.com/company/index.htm?sub=submissions_current.htm
I am a senior in high school, and our English project requires us to do a Shakespearean comedy into a play set in the modern times.
I'm particularly looking for a comedy that is simple, catchy, funny, and easy-to-understand. We are going to shoot this and make it into a short movie.
We're only given a maximum of 15 min.
I would be very grateful for all your advice.
NOT a Midsummer Night's Drem, very complicated.
I suggest Much Ado About Nothing. It centers around false rumors and people falling in love. The storyline is universal and I see variations of it in everyday high school life all the time. There is a good film version of it if you'd like to check it out. Stars Keanu Reeves and Denzel Washington
