He is always …
He is always praised for his willingness to sacrifice his son. But if he honestly believed in heaven, how was this a sacrifice? It’s more like he was willing to send Isaac to a really long Summer camp. And if he wasn’t sure Isaac would go to heaven, then that makes him a really bad father. A good worshiper, sure, but certainly not father of the year.

I never read …
I never read tabloids, so I guess that that play on words is naturally irresistible to anyone making the same point. I admit that it is a ‘bit obvious’.
Also, a non sequitur (note the correct spelling, oh inept one), by definition, has no relevance to the previous statement. How can a clear-cut counter-example to your misbegotten thesis not be relevant?
By flyhead2 on Jul 28, 2009
The best you can do …
The best you can do is to repeat a tabloid propoganda line, which you ineptly turned into a non-sequitor?
Good luck with your patriotism and be careful not to walk into any lampposts.

Like I said if he …
Like I said if he was as secular as some like to think then his take on the Sermon on the Mount is all the more profound.

Skaryon said: “Not …
Skaryon said: “Not everyone is from the U.S.”
And the claim that “the bible rubbish” is so hilariously childish that it doesn’t deserve a real argument.

You think that you …
You think that you are being sarcastic, so try the same line with Zimbabwe: the former ‘bread-basket of Africa’ becomes a basket-case instead.

Wheter Obamas is …
Wheter Obamas is likeable or popular or not is completely irrelevan in regards to wheter he’s right or wrong. “Obama thinks bible isn’t rubbish so it isn’t” is propably the weakes argument I’ve ever heard.
By quasar88 on Jul 28, 2009
awesome!
awesome!

In the big bang …
In the big bang model, there was no befor the big bang.
By simonkane on Jul 28, 2009
Vonnegut was surely …
Vonnegut was surely a secular humanist, but you’re dead right on the profound thing. See his joke to the Humanist’s ociation on Asimov’s death “Well, Isaac’s in Heaven now.” Or something like that.
By grazon on Jul 28, 2009
Oh yeah and Obama …
Oh yeah and Obama doesn’t have any fans in other countries.
By Skaryon on Jul 28, 2009
Not everyone is …
Not everyone is from the U.S.
Anyway, arguments from athority are just very weak and pitiful.
By AGK on Jul 28, 2009
lol…so hilarious …
lol…so hilarious and simply brilliant
By grazon on Jul 28, 2009
Just what Vonnegut …
Just what Vonnegut should be classified as is a matter of debate. But say he was an atheist, that only makes what he wrote more profound.
By hadr0n on Jul 28, 2009
I though Vonnegut …
I though Vonnegut was an atheist?

“Who cares about …
“Who cares about what obama thinks”?
Just about everyone.
“All that matters is that the bible is rubbish”
Oh?
“If Christ hadn’t delivered the Sermon on the Mount, with its message of mercy and pity, I wouldn’t want to be a human being.”
Kurt Vonnegut

Pipe down, Scaryon, …
Pipe down, Scaryon, you’re coming across as quite chippy.
By Skaryon on Jul 28, 2009
Who cares about …
Who cares about what obama thinks? All that matters is that the bible is rubbish - at least if you want to see that book a guide through life of any sorts. That’s not an opinion, it’s a statement of fact. Anyone with half a brain and the willingness to read it open minded and sceptically will realize this.
By grazon on Jul 28, 2009
Obama disagrees …
Obama disagrees with your take on the Bible.
By Skaryon on Jul 28, 2009
We don’t know. That …
We don’t know. That, however, does not entitle you to make up silly fairytales.
By Skaryon on Jul 28, 2009
Your failure to …
Your failure to understand that and why the bible is rubbish is sad.
By TBplayer12 on Jul 28, 2009
