How far in advance are comic strips written?
September 25th, 2008 | by admin |Does anyone know how long in advance a daily comic strip is written? As an example, when a comic strip appears in the paper today, when did the author originally write it?
Daily strips are done two or three weeks in advance, while Sundays are done two months or so in advance, in order for the newspapers to set the color palettes before printing.

well if it is a newspaper comic strip maybe like a few weeks, but if your talking full out manga, those things are written sometimes months or even years in advance.

Probably one to two weeks ago, unless today’s strip was an inventory piece, designed to be used if a deadline was missed which means it could have been illustrated and lettered weeks to months ago..
