    Haha! The little …
Haha! The little brat aaalmost kept completely quiet this time! Apart from a few annoying goo goo´s, of course. Now, if you´ll shut up for the rest of your life, maybe there´ll be world peace.
Oh, and did anyone notice in part 4, how both the women had baritone voices? My god, only Matt had a deeper one. They sounded like they´ve been smoking 2 packs a day since 30 years before they were born!

    er, no more likely …
er, no more likely that your way off. I agree with adama0731, it makes by far the most sense, plus we learn alot of that by reading the graphic novel. Adrian is no superman either, just highly intelligent, why would hitler send two completely normal people to the states in the hopes that they creat a super human, thats just stupid. Adrian is nothing like a Nazi, his attack is completely unbiased in that he targets no one in particular, your way off.

    You’re so wrong, …
You’re so wrong, adama0731. Hitler was chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945. In the “Watchmen” universe, he probably sent two agents, Adrian’s parents, to procreate and produce a Ubermench (superman) in order to “take over” America. Besides, Adrian refers to Hitler when he “confess” his masterstroke to Dan and Walter.

God. Matthew Goode is just…BRILLIANT. I just want to bang the whole cast actually. Don’t lie people. You know you do too.

    I definately agree.
    I definately agree.

  21. By adama0731 on May 25, 2009

    Perhaps most …
Perhaps most importantly, giving Veidt a German accent is just a bad idea, as it is a very crude labelling device; film-goers have been conditioned over the years to automatically ociate a German accent with villainy, and giving Veidt a German accent simply turns him into a standard issue movie villain.

  22. By adama0731 on May 25, 2009

    The idea that …
The idea that Veidt’s parents were Nazis is also problematic in terms of the graphic novel, as Veidt’s parents are described as immigrating to the USA in 1939, which would be a rather strange time for a pair of Nazis to leave Germany.Frankly, given the timing of their departure, I had always umed that Veidt’s parents were either Jewish or that they were “Aryan” Germans who were opposed to the Third Reich.

  23. By adama0731 on May 25, 2009

    There are certain …
There are certain problems with the whole German accent thing, as Veidt is described in WATCHMEN as a native born American, whose parents immigrated to the USA in the year of his birth. Given that background, I don’t think that Veidt would speak with an accent.

    well it was a …
well it was a pretty bad slip up but at the same time i think it’s umed that the audience watching the panel already read the book. for the people who didn’t read, well you should never watch these, there intended for people who are familiar with the material

    I’m a bit worried …
I’m a bit worried about Goode playing Veidt…he just doesn’t seem to have the physicality to play the role. Then again, he could surprise us all and be a terrific Veidt. Have to agree that he shouldn’t be giving away the twist in an interview such as this though.
